Suspended between motion and stillness, mobiles offer us a visual language for uncertainty, adaptation, connection, and joy. University of Southern Maine Crewe Center

Opening Sept. 24, 5pm to 7pm
OverUnder highlights work by artists Rachel Gloria Adams and Rachel Sperry. The show features work rooted in familial representation created via fiber-derived techniques. There is something inherent in the act of weaving and stitching that helps process memory. In the context of their respective practices, the artists examine themes of domesticity, loss, childhood, and parenthood.

This fall and winter Kinonik is partnering with the Alliance Francaise du Maine to screen classic French movies on film. Once a month from September to December, including Forbidden Games, Jules and Jim, and Children of Paradise.

Jocelyn Lee: Speedwell ProjectsIf you identify as a woman, have had a meaningful connection to Maine at any point in your life, and have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to your practice as an artist for 45+ years or more, we would like to celebrate you with a grant of $45,000. One grantee will be selected by a jury each year.
This is an unrestricted grant to help support the continuation of your work.
The deadline is January 31, 2027.
You will need a narrative bio demonstrating your lifetime commitment, a minimum of 20 images, a narrative statement that describes how you would use the funds, and the name of recommender.

Kate and Rachel two of the more than 50 participating artists in the Dune fundraising exhibition on view in Old Port Square. Also includes Cassidy Point alums Glen Baldridge and Louise Sheldon. Funds support the new Dunes space on Fore Street.

Genevieve is the Bowdoin College sabatical replacement for fellow Cassidy Point artist James Mullen. Genevieve will use Light Manufacturing to prepare for her solo exhibition at the Mindy Solomon Gallery in Miami in 2027.

We are currently full at our Cassidy Point studio building but there is a sublet available in the Space Gallery studio building.
Sept. 15th 2026 - June 31st 2027, dates flexible.
-Two high-ceilinged conjoined rooms that equal 500 sq ft of working space
-PLUS two large storage rooms: 1 w/ a slop sink, another with a food-safe sink and mini-fridge. (I am going to be storing some stuff in these spaces but the sinks still very accessible)
-Wifi, electricity, heat, trash removal, & gen. Management covered by SPACE
Asking $750/month. Open to shares, partial chunks of the time listed above, etc.
